So we just returned from Trek yesterday, and it was a great time. This is like the 11th year that I have been able to go to Trek, and it was great cause this year Corrine & Daniel got to come too, which made it a lot of fun. We stayed at the Wus Haus, which is a vacation home that friends of ours bought a few years ago. But it worked out quite well. We went to the island in the morning to spend the day there and then at night after dinner, I drove a boat back to the main land where we drove 2 miles to the house and spent the night. It was a good week and I think all the middle schoolers had a fun time while there as well.
Here are a few pictures from the week.
Here is Daniel, decked out in his Island Gear with Mommy,

So we went to Chicago last weekend to see a friend of mine get married. Elizabeth Chabot, now Dickey married Brad on Saturday. Here’s a picture of them during the ceremony.

After the wedding we went to the Adler Planetarium for the reception. It was cool to have a reception at the planetarium. Here is a picture from the reception looking at downtown Chicago during the reception, at sunset. We had a good time, but we are looking forward to a chance when we can hang out more with Brad & Elizabeth, hopefully they will have a chance to make a trip down to Oxford, sometime soon.

So I finally got around to posting some pictures from my cross country journey. Here is one I really like.. I think I took it while somewhere in New Mexico, but I’m not exactly sure where.. But I thought it looked pretty cool, and my nephew really liked it too.. i told him i was leading a parade.. :0

Here is a pictures of my ride for the 3 days on the road. I think I took up 6 or 7 parking spots, so I usually could stop just anywhere. But this is my parking job outside of my hotel in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Check out some of my other pictures I took on the road, Sorry if I got the clearance height in the top of some of the pictures, or the yellow from the truck on the bottom of some of them, but I was driving, I was really trying to concentrate on driving, and it was hard enough taking the picture so framing is perfectly well, was a little hard. But I hope you enjoy them anyway..

So after arriving in Las Vegas around 5:30pm there time, fighting rush hour traffic, and then getting settled into the hotel. We had dinner then we all pretty much passed out. The next morning, we all got up ready to go and ready to move Mike, Kris and the boys into their new place. So after a good breakfast at the hotel, we drove over to the new place and moved all the stuff in. Well almost all the stuff, Mike and I were a little tired so we left some of the bigger stuff in the truck for some of the guys he works with.
That night after the traditional moving pizza (always required with a move) Mike and I took the truck to the rental place, and then I was off to the airport. My flight left Last Vegas at 12:45am on Thursday morning, (which is really 3:45am, Ohio time) anyway the flight arrived nicely on time at 7:30 am where my great friend John picked me up from the airport, and we headed home.
On the way back we stopped by the Ross Donut shop, to try some donuts that we heard were great. Well they were just OK, but tasted pretty good since we were a little tired. After that we drove by a friends new place, (they were moving in while I was gone) and stopped to visit for a few minutes, and since we were there, John and I helped move a piano into their house for them. Its always nice when you can serve those you are visiting..
So after a slightly shorter day, I have arrived in Albuquerque, NM. It was a very tough trip in regards to directions. When I pulled out of the parking lot of the hotel in Oklahoma City, I pulled onto Interstate 40, The hotel I am currently staying at is just off of I-40 as well, they are just like 600 miles apart from each other..
I stopped at a place called Dyer’s in Armarillo, TX. It was pretty good food. I ate a good combination plater. Pork, Beef & Brisket all pretty good, but the bbq sauce was awesome. The Pork was a little dry, but I liked it. I have been taking some pictures while I drive, so I’ll post them in a few days.
