My Fair Lady

We had a fun Sunday, after church and lunch, we just relaxed and hung around the house, and then John brought over My Fair Lady. I don’t think we have seen the whole thing before, but its one of those movies that everyone needs to see, so we did.  It was a good show.    It was quite loverly.

Bonfire

Last night we planned on having a bonfire, but since it rained all day of Friday, we decided that it would be a bit wet so we had an indoor bonfire.  We had about 12 or so people come over for a cookout, where I cooked some burgers and hotdogs on the grill and then just hung out for the rest of the night. We then burned some wood in the fireplace and played some wii and had a good time. People stayed over and hung out till around midnight.

Saturday was a busy day as well.  Corrine and I started the morning, with choir practice and then Corrine and the girls went out for lunch, and since it had rained the day before Rob and I decided that we should have the bonfire anyway and burn the brush that we had acquired for the past few years.  So we burned a lot of the tree that Rob cut down the week before, along with a whole lot of the brush that we have been building up for the past 3 years.  While Rob manned the fire Corrine and went off to learn how to make dumplings at a dumpling making class.  It was a lot of fun, and we got to eat a whole lot of them, they were pretty good.  We then came home from the class and helped Rob and John finish putting brush on the fire and then we ended up having a pile that was about 12 feet in diameter of ash and embers. Then we all came in an played some more Wii.  Great weekend of fun.

Indoor Weekend Project

The weather went from beautiful to down right cold in just a few days so all the plans we had to work and play ourside were foiled, so we played inside.  Saturday night, Corrine decided that the area over the fireplace looked dark.

Lights Off So we spent Saturday night, part of Sunday afternoon, and then Monday after work installing some track lighting.  Lights OnIt was a lot of fun, the work was a little hard, but fun too..  Anyway, here is what the same mantle area looked after we had got the lights installed. I would agree that it looks a little better then before.  Wouldn’t you agree?

Beautiful Weekend in Oxford

The weather outside this weekend was beautiful, so we spent most of the weekend outside.

Earlier in the week, John and I put up a Purple Martin Bird House.  You can see it here, no tenants yet, but I will keep you updated on our first attempt at being landlords.

On Saturday, we planted 11 trees, we donated $15 to the National Arbor Day Society, so as a thanks they sent us 11 trees to plant.  We planted them there in the garden because they were bare root trees and only like 12-18inches tall, so we wanted to protect them from the wind, and we fenced in the whole area to hopefully protect them from the deer too.

Then yesterday, I decided that since it was so nice, I needed to do something else outside, so I put lattice up across the front of the pool deck, there were several pieces of lattice that were under the deck, so John and I cut them up and put them across the front.  I think it looks pretty nice.  I think next year or later this fall, we will edge the flower bed across the front of the deck, and add more dirt, but that’s a project for another time.

Crazy Snow Storm

There was just an unusual snow storm that came in over the weekend. It was quite hard to measure how much snow we actually got, because it was so windy, but it was somewhere between 6 and 14 inches of snow. Since we are just Kidds we had to go out and play in the snow. We went for a hike, and had a great time. Check out the pictures, we had a blast. Ricardo, Luciana, Rob, Annie, John, Corrine and I had a great time.IMGP0507IMG_1790IMG_1797IMG_1803
